Cleaning House

Well, I've put my mom on a plane and officially ended the month long houseguest marathon. I'll be able to do some real posting again, with actual photos and recipes! Even though I haven't been giving my blog much love, quite a few of you have been sending happiness my way.
Belated thanks to Rational Jenn for the Kreativ Blogger Award. Jenn is one of the most prolific and thought provoking residents of my Google Reader, and well worth checking out. Both she and Funky Food Trisha have sent the award my way, so I expect I'll have to pass it on one of these days.
The Veggie Queen and Flax USA had a recipe contest featuring one of my favorite egg substitutes, flax seed. I managed to get my act together to send them my lovely Oatmeal Raisin Muffin recipe, which won the grand prize of a year's worth of flax seed! To say I'm thrilled is an understatement. You may expect many more recipes featuring flax seed in the coming year!
Linda Coss, renouned food allergy expert and cookbook author, sent a Twitter invitation my way. I don't use Twitter, but those of you who deal with food allergies (OK, that would be all of you) and Tweet should check out her feed.
Finally, Feedburner tells me I've broken into triple digits, with over one hundred subscribers. That still puts me firmly in the small blog category, but I honestly thought this would just be a good way to get my recipes organized, I never expected anyone else to show up to read and comment! (Except maybe my mom. Only she calls me and tells me to fix my typos and grammar mistakes instead.) So thanks so much to all of you who stop by, even when I just want to scream my fool head off about something.
We return you now to your regularly scheduled recipes and rants.

I think you need an award for dealing with a mother for one whole month.

I'd be insane by now.

Congratulations for winning the flax prize! Do you get some of the roasted flax? I'm really curious about that.

I just tried Finesse hypoallergenic shampoo. Finesse has a hypoallergenic conditioner too that I didn't try yet. My skin doesn't feel itchy so far. I got a rash esp. around the circumference of my face using a papaya and mango shampoo.
